Housesitting is a good way to discover a country at a lower cost!

Put in confidence
If there are platforms dedicated to this type of service, we tried to write a Facebook post in groups focused on Costa Rica: a beautiful photo of the two of us, a nice and reassuring article and, the next day we had two contacts. To break the ice and give everyone confidence, we made a few videos. After a few discussions we already had two months reserved! What's more, in a region that we wanted to discover (Samara), chance does things well! On the other hand, we didn't know what type of accommodation we would end up in, the owners often remaining discreet, unless it was a way of seeing that you weren't just coming for their house.
Sublime houses, precious contacts
It was once we arrived there that we discovered the places: and each time we were in sublime houses, one of 300 m2 with its swimming pool, the other overlooking the Pacific (swimming pool too). In both cases we had to keep two dogs. The first were Great Danes, as tall as a pony but so adorable. We took them to the beach every day in our car, what a laugh! The second ones were "normal" size and just as nice. This type of experience also allows you to meet people who have often lived in the country for a long time. The exchanges are therefore rich for those who plan to settle there and therefore make it possible to avoid certain pitfalls!
House sitting a way of life?
We met other house-sitters whose lifestyle is this. They have no fixed addresses and travel the world on one mission after another. For our part, this was not the objective. At the end of these two months, we preferred to head towards the region that interested us to find the land of our dreams to build on!
